In 1994 the beautiful country of Rwanda was devastated by a 100 day genocide that claimed nearly a million lives. Since 2001 YWAM/KK Winnipeg has joined in the battle for rebirth and hope for this nation. We have set up computer labs and recording studios as well as working with children and churches on each trip. In 2009 our team worked in a refugee camp near the Tanzanian border. We helped teach village leaders English, ran day programs with the kids and partnered with organizations to help them move forward in their visions for Rwanda’s future. This summer we will return to the refugee camp to continue the work with the kids as well as taking on a few more projects that YWAM Rwanda is preparing for us. Dates for the trip are approximately from early June to early or mid-July. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. We are excited to have you involved! Working in a refugee camp In July 2009, a small team of Canadian young people spent a week working in a refugee camp on the border of Rwanda and Tanzania. Get out of your comfort zone!
